Tui Na Massage

Tui Na is a therapeutic form of massage and has been used in China for more than 2,000 years.

Tui Na massage therapy has been considered the external form of massage and is used for giving special treatments to people of all ages, from infancy to old age. This Chinese therapy makes use of rhythmic compression techniques along different energy channels of the body to establish harmonious flow of Qi throughout the body and bringing it back to balance. It works deeply with the positive energy of the body.

Tui Na makes use of various hand techniques in combination with acupuncture and other manipulation techniques. To enhance the healing process, the practitioner may recommend the use of Chinese herbs. Many of the techniques used in this massage resemble that of a western massage like gliding,

kneading, vibration, tapping, friction, pulling, rolling, pressing and shaking. In Tui Na massage, the muscles and tendons are massaged with the help of hands, and an acupressure technique is applied to directly affect the flow of Qi at different acupressure points of the body, thus facilitating the healing process. It removes the blockages and keeps the energy moving through the meridians as well as the muscles.

A typical session of Tui Na massage may vary from thirty minutes to an hour. The session timings may vary depending on the patient's needs and condition. The best part of the therapy is that it relaxes as well as energizes the person. The main benefit of Tui Na massage is that it focuses on the specific problem, whether it is an acute or a chronic pain associated with the joints, muscles or a skeletal system. This technique is very beneficial in reducing the pain of neck, shoulders, hips, back, arms, highs, legs and ankle disorders.

It is a very effective therapy for arthritis, pain, sciatica and muscle spasms. Other benefits of this massage therapy include alleviation of the stress related disorders like insomnia, constipation, headaches and other disorders related to digestive, respiratory and reproductive systems.

The greatest advantage of Tui Na is that it focuses on maintaining overall balance with both physical and mental health. Any one who wants to avoid the side effects of drugs or a chemical based treatment can adopt this effective massage technique to alleviate their pain. Tui Na massage therapy is now becoming a more common therapy method due to its focus on specific problems rather than providing a general treatment.

Scraping Therapy

Scarping Therapy, known as Gua Sha in China for over a thousand year, is a healing art based on Traditional Chinese Medicine and used throughout Asia. is a traditional Chinese medical treatment in which the skin is scraped to produce light bruising. Practitioners believe gua sha releases unhealthy elements from injured areas and stimulates blood flow and healing.

How does Scraping Therapy work?

The Scraping Therapy is used to release the body of blood stagnation. Blood stagnation is considered to be the cause of many diseases in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine). To visualize this, you may want to compare the water from a running stream versus the water in a still stagnant pond. The stagnant pond will be full of gunk, green moss and other growths while the running stream will have clear water. Our entire blood circulation is very similar to this. When the blood is not flowing properly, it starts to become stagnant and creates an environment more suitable for disease.
This is why Scraping is such a useful technique. It can quickly release blockages in your body caused by stagnant blood. This is because it mimics sweating and promotes body fluid circulation which helps to normalize cellular metabolic processes and release toxic waste from your deep cellular tissues. It also increases blood and qi circulation to help oxidize your cells as well as nourish them.

The Benefits

Scraping has two main functions where it both nourishes and detoxifies:

1st, the stroke action used to release petechiae to the surface of the skin, forces more blood and oxygen to the area treated which helps to nourish those cells.
2nd, the red spots on the skin become a byproduct that signals the body to do a sweep up of the area so that it eliminates both the dead blood cells as well as other toxins that surfaced towards the skin during the Scraping process.
After a treatment, the patient often has immediate relief from pain, headaches, fever, chills, cough, chest pains, nausea, stiffness, etc. After a series of treatments Scraping is able to release enough toxins to allow the body to find inner balance.

Besides curing diseases, scrape therapy may build one's body, prevent diseases and help lose weight. Under the stimulation of scrape therapy, more blood serum will be produced to improve the body's immunity.

After Scraping Therapy, you should keep warm (avoiding wind,or sudden change in temperature, cold shower as well as cold drink ) to ensure your body’s boosted metabolism and self-healing process working well. Stretching is recommended but not a heavy workout on the day of treatment. In some cases, some people may have the go-better reactions ( like feeling sore, tired or even sick ) for a few days. Then afterwards, as the red spots fading, you can feel the improvement throughout body, especially the problems treated.
The Red (sha) usually fades within 3 to 10 days. If it takes longer to fade, this often indicates poor blood circulation and the practitioner should provide you with further advice on how to improve your overall circulation. With continuous Scraping therapy, the red spot will start to fade faster which will be a good sign since it’s an indication of better blood circulation.

 Who needs the Scraping Treatment?

People who has pain, aches, tenderness, or tension in the muscles. scraping therapy can prevent the common cold, flu, bronchitis, asthma, as well as any other chronic disorders that involve the congestion of blood and qi.

In the area of pain-relief, scraping therapy is unequalled. Hence, we offer this treatment to all those who suffer pain from each parts of the body (head, neck, shoulders, back, legs, and joints ), and RSI (Repetitive Stress Injury) , sciatica and other nerve pain, migraine, rheumatism and many other disorders or dysfunctions.

How often should Scraping Therapy be performed?
Be performed once or twice a week, continue 3- 4 weeks for a treatment that will have better results.
For health care be recommended once a month.

Note:
Make sure after a treatment you allow your body to rest in order to get the full detox benefits. This means no drugs, alcohol, sex, fasting, binging, hard labor, strenuous exercises, etc. for the rest of the day.

Also, make sure you drink lots of warm water after the treatment as well as the next couple of days to keep your body well hydrated so that it can properly eliminate toxins released during the treatment.

Scraping Therapy can assist with the following:

Cough and Dyspnea: Bronchitis, Asthma, Emphysema.
Digestive Disorders.
Food Poisoning.
Fevers.
Fatigue caused by heat-stroke.
Gynecological Disorders.
Headaches.
Muscle and Tendon Injuries.
Sluggish Blood Circulation.
Stiffness, Pain, Immobility.
Sun-strokes.
Urinary Problems.
Excessive sweating.
Excess Flem.
Jaundice.
Chest Pains.

However, you should be ready for the slight healthy pain from the treatment because it will get down to the right points ----- the roots or triggers of the targeting problems. As we all know, “ Pain is the warnings about the problems “. To overcome the obstacles of a cure, you have to learn to work with it. No Pain No Gain ? ----- yes, NO PAIN NO GAIN !

Moxibustion

What is Moxibustion?

Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese medicine technique that involves the burning of mugwort, a small, spongy herb, to facilitate healing. Moxibustion has been used throughout Asia for thousands of years; in fact, the actual Chinese character for acupuncture, translated literally, means "acupuncture-moxibustion." The purpose of moxibustion, as with most forms of traditional Chinese medicine, is to strengthen the blood, stimulate the flow of qi, and maintain general health.

Does it hurt?

The moxa is placed on the point and lit, but is extinguished or removed before it burns the skin. The patient will experience a pleasant heating sensation that penetrates deep into the skin, but should not experience any pain, blistering or scarring unless the moxa is left in place for too long.

What is moxibustion used for?

In traditional Chinese medicine, moxibustion is used on people who have a cold or stagnant condition. The burning of moxa is believed to expel cold and warm the meridians, which leads to smoother flow of blood and qi. In Western medicine, moxibustion has successfully been used to turn breech babies into a normal head-down position prior to childbirth. A landmark study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association in 1998 found that up to 75% of women suffering from breech presentations before childbirth had fetuses that rotated to the normal position after receiving moxibustion at an acupuncture point on the Bladder meridian. Other studies have shown that moxibustion increases the movement of the fetus in pregnant women, and may reduce the symptoms of menstrual cramps when used in conjunction with traditional acupuncture.Nowadays,we have modern lifestyle with AC everywhere and frozen food, a lot of people are facing Sub healthy problem,Moxibustion is the ideal natural way to get back to health. It helps to remove cold and moisture from our body,it helps good quality sleep and digestion.especially effective in the treatment of chronic problems, "deficient conditions" (weakness), and gerontology. Bian Que (fl. circa 500 BCE), one of the most famous semi-legendary doctors of Chinese antiquity and the first specialist in moxibustion, discussed the benefits of moxa over acupuncture in his classic work Bian Que Neijing. He asserted that moxa could add new energy to the body and could treat both excess and deficient conditions.

Chiropractic Therapy for Kids

Chiropractic Therapy is kind of  gentle stimulate for kids.  More significant is that parents reported three unexpected improvements with their child's care:
        1. Improved sleeping
        2.Improved behavior and attitude
        3.Improved immune system function

Chiropractic’s purpose is to remove interferences to the natural healing power running through the body. When that power is unleashed the healing that results may be profound.
Today we find more parents bringing their children to chiropractors for day-to-day health concerns we’re all familiar with: colds, sore throats, ear infections, fevers, colic, asthma, tonsillitis, allergies, bed-wetting, infections, pains, falls, stomach-aches, and the hundred and one little and big things children go through as they grow up.

 Chiropractors Do Not Treat Disease

It’s most important to understand that chiropractic is not a treatment for disease. It’s purpose is to reduce spinal nerve stress, a serious and often painless condition most children (and adults) have in their bodies. Spinal nerve stress interferes with the proper functioning of the nervous system, can weaken internal organs and organ systems, lower resistance, reduce healing potential and set the stage for sickness and disorders of all kinds.

When a chiropractor frees the nervous system from spinal stress, the healing power of the body is unleashed: the immune system functions more efficiently, resistance to disease increases, and your child’s body functions more efficiently. Your child can respond to internal and external environmental stresses such as germs, changes in temperature, humidity, toxins, pollen and all the other stresses he/she comes in contact with more efficiently.

So although children with diseases are often brought to the chiropractor, the chiropractor is not treating their diseases but is instead freeing them of spinal nerve stress, thus permitting their body’s natural healing potential to function at its best.

      What Exactly Is Nerve Stress?

Spinal nerve stress (also referred to as vertebral subluxations, the subluxation complex, or “pinched nerves”) is a misalignment or distortion of the spinal column, skull, hips, and related tissues (the structural system) that irritate, stretch, impinge or otherwise interfere with the proper function of the nervous system (brain, spinal cord, spinal nerves and outlying or peripheral nerves). Since the nervous system controls the function of the body, any interference to it can have wide-ranging effects.

Cupping for Women’s Health

Cupping can cause a range of neurological and endocrine system response by applying flame on the cups can add the heat and qi energy to meridians and uterus, therefore to regulate the normal uterus functions.

Result is significant. Special for Cold Uterus,Oarium problems related. It helps remove the moisture from Organs, warm up the Uterus and relief the Period Pain.

In Chinese medicine, one of the main culprits of women's illness is what we call a cold uterus and imbalance of ying and yang.

Yang( or Qi) energy is the warming energy of the body and fuels movement of blood and energy and catalyzes biological processes, such as ovulation, implantation and other functions.

The luteal phase of your cycle is considered the yang phase. From a conventional medical view, progesterone kicks in and raises the body temperature to support implantation of a fertilized embryo and helps it to thrive. In Chinese medicine, it is the yang/qi energy that supports proper hormonal response to facilitate reproduction and entire menstrual cycle.

If your uterus is cold and the yang/qi energy weak, blood flow may be inhibited to your reproductive organs causing old stagnant dead blood cells to accumulate which can block healthy flow and causes irregular menstrual cycle and symptoms. It is also the main reason which causes for PMS,PCOD/PCOS and other related health issues for women.

Signs You May Have Cold Uterus

  • Cold hands and feet: Feeling cold easily. Drink warm water and wear more clothes cannot help. It’s caused by Yang/energy deficiency and stagnation.
  • Freckles and dark eyes: Both cannot be removed by skincare creams. Root cause is the cold uterus.
  • Belly fat: Fat can preserve heat. Cold uterus will make body to preserve heat by accumulating fat in the belly area. Belly fat cannot be removing by dieting alone.
  • Waist and knees soreness  and weak: dry and dark skin. Feel tired easily.
  • Irregular and painful menstrual cycle: bloating sensation before period at lower abdominal area. Excess leucorrhea.Cold belly. Dark menstrual blood and blood clots.Unbearable menstrual pain.
  • Low sex drive

Meridian Facial Therapy

  Meridian Is the Energy Channel

The body's vital energy
“Chi” circulates through the body along specific interconnected channels called Meridians.
14 main meridians connect to all organs. When it’s blocked, it could cause pain and sickness.
All Diseases occur due to imbalance, resulting in blockage, excess or deficient amounts of Chi in the meridians.

What Is Chinese Meridian Therapy (CMT) ?
CMT works to alleviate this imbalance and restore harmony of Chi in our body. There are many scientific researches on CMT can cause a range of neurological and endocrine system responses. so does the face.

Come on, You failed because you haven't met us,you were on wrong direction.
Come on,you can try cupping. It is an effective method that works by way of restoring the body’s qi movement.

Cupping provides effective slimming treatment since it stimulates acupressure points and runs them along the body’s lymphatic lines. Traditional Chinese Medicine says that excess fat and slow metabolism are a result of stagnant qi. The restricted movement of qi results in ‘dampness’; which is caused by an ill-functioning spleen and liver.
Cupping is a suction-based therapy, and it helps to remove damp stagnation from the body. This is followed by a rupturing of stubborn fat, which is subsequently flushed out of the system.

Therapy for PCOS PMS

Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) is a common condition that can be treated with traditional Chinese medicine. PMS occurs in the seven to ten days before menstruation and disappears shortly after bleeding begins. Caused by fluctuations in the hormonal balance of estrogen and progesterone, its symptoms include nervousness, irritability, emotional ups and downs, depression, water retention, and sore breasts.

From the point of view of Chinese patterns of disharmony, all of these symptoms can be traced to a stagnation of liver qi. Since the liver stores the blood and regulates the smooth flow of qi, it is almost always the organ involved in menstrual problems. When liver qi flows smoothly, the menstrual cycle is also smooth.

How Traditional Chinese Medicine Views Premenstrual Syndrome

What is unique about TCM(Traditional Chinese Medicine) treatments is that variations in each woman's condition are acknowledged. Physicians diagnose conditions according to a complex set of signs and symptoms exhibited by each individual and formulate individualized remedies to rebalance the body. Instead of giving a particular drug for one or two intractable problems, drugs are tailor-made for specific conditions and exert multiple effects, eg. fighting pathogens, regulating the organs or promoting the balance between organs so as to increase the body's overall defense ability.

In short, TCM believes that the syndrome is due to a periodic flush of abundant blood in the Conception and Thoroughfare Vessels (the Extra Meridians) that lead to a temporary disturbance of the blood inside the body. This then gives rise to organ dysfunction and yin yang disharmony.

Symptoms of PCOS
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a complex syndrome that includes problems with a woman’s menstrual cycle (length, intensity), her ability to have children, her hormone levels, and her appearance (excessive hair growth on the chin and cheeks, acne, weight gain, baldness).

Women with PCOS often have ovaries that contain many small cysts, of a size seldom exceeding 0.5 cm.

The symptoms of PCOS can vary from woman to woman, with some women suffering more than others. Symptoms can include any of the following:

• Infertility due to lack of ovulation (PCOS is the most common cause of infertility); Anxiety; Depression
• Menstrual irregularities: irregular or absent menses;
• Heavy menstruation (especially if periods are late);
• Painful menstruation or pain during ovulation, bleeding in the middle of a cycle;
• Pelvic pain (distention, heaviness, stabbing pain);
• Physical changes (often occurring at a later stage but not always): increased hair growth on the face, chest, stomach, back, thumbs or toes, weight gain around the waist, an inability to lose weight despite physical exercise, acne, dandruff, thinning hair (looking like male baldness);
• Multiple cysts on the ovaries diagnosed by ultrasound.

Traditional Chinese Meridian for PCOS
Chinese medicine has studied polycystic ovaries since ancient times. There are many ancient and modern text books which mention abdominal masses (ie polycystic ovaries), along with scanty menstruation and absent or delayed menstruation.

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine theory, organs involved with PCOS include the Spleen, Kidney and Liver, with a subsequent disharmony of Chong and Ren channels / meridians.

At the root of the disease is a kidney deficiency (hormonal imbalance), and a spleen qi deficiency (digestive problems) which causes accumulation of dampness. Very often a liver qi stagnation, worsened by years of stress or frustration, is added to the mix.

Liver Qi Stagnation and Blood Stasis – Enduring stress, depression or anxiety may lead to liver qi stagnation. This eventually impairs proper circulation of the blood, since qi makes blood circulate in the liver as well as in the ren and chong channels that traverse and connect with the uterus.

Another common cause of blood stagnation in the uterus is the invasion of cold. Cold causes contraction and prevents proper blood circulation. The liver channel begins at the big toe and travels up the leg, encircling the genitals. Coldness can easily enter the body through the feet and invade the uterus via the liver channel. This is one of the reasons why we advise women not to swim during their menstrual periods, when the uterus is particularly open and vulnerable, and to keep their feet, legs, abdomen and lower back warm.

Long term liver qi stagnation can also transform into heat, causing severe PMS symptoms: feelings of heat, restlessness and irritability, headaches, distended breast or abdomen, irregular periods and particularly heavy and clotty periods (when heat has transformed into blood stasis).

We use herbs and therapies that promote qi and blood circulation in the uterus, reduce clotting, reduce pain and distention, calm emotions and remove heat.

To effect complete recovery from PCOS, Chinese medicine uses herbs and therapies to regulate menstrual cycles, improve digestion, dissolve cysts, promote ovulation, improve egg quality, support conception and prevent a miscarriage when a pregnancy is achieved.

Therapy for Men's health

Chinese medicine considers that the strength or weakness of men’s sexual function is associated with the energy of certain internal organs. We always check where the imbalance of organs is occurring. Impotence (erectile dysfunction) is not only a personal health issue, it can also affect confidence, relationships and family.

1. The Causes of Impotence

i) Kidney weakness (especially Kidney Qi, Kidney Yang and Kidney Essence)
The Kidneys are one of the major organs to dominate the body’s sexual function, development and reproduction. If the Kidney function, balance or energy is good then the body’s sexual function will be strong. If you have Kidney weakness syndrome you should have the following symptoms as well: lower libido, lack of energy, weakness or pain in the lower back, light sleeping or waking very early, frequent urination during the night, puffy or heavy body. Some of the middle-aged men can get the earlier stages of prostate changes, such as enlargement or difficult urination.

ii) Liver Disorder & Stress
More and more often men’s sexual function disorders are strongly associated with our fast-paced society, work and social demands which become increasingly stressful. This state of stress restricts the flow of the Liver channel which travels through the pubic area and reproductive organs. When the Liver is affected by stress and the Liver channel is unable to flow smoothly through these areas, sexual dysfunction and disorders of the reproductive organs can become an issue. The stress can also come from other areas of life, including relationships and family.

If you have a Liver disorder, you will also have the following symptoms: depression, emotional or irritable, difficulty falling asleep, insomnia, frequent dreams, abdominal bloating, sluggish bowel movement, headache, migraines or stiff neck. Some of these cases can combine with the following diseases: high blood pressure, high cholesterol, blood test shows abnormal Liver function.

iii) Old Injury (Blood Stagnation) around Waist Area
There are several Channels and Kidneys located around the lower back and abdominal area. These Channels and Organs flow the energy to strongly support men’s sexual organs. If there is Blood Stagnation from and old injury stuck in these Channels, it will affect the flow of the circulation which is then the cause of the impotence. These cases often have the following symptoms as well: chronic lower back and hip pain and weakness of the lower back.

iv) Other Causes
Some other causes of men’s sexual dysfunction include over-doing things, being overweight, diabetes, under active thyroid.

2. How Does Chinese Medicine Help Impotence

i) First of all we need to help you find out your individual cause of impotence. We always check you by our traditional diagnosis method, such as tongue, pulse, signs and symptoms.

ii) Following your cause, we will choose a suitable treatment principle for you. The treatment may be acupuncture, Chinese medicine, cupping or meridian massage. During the treatment we will not only help your sexual function, we will also balance your whole body and improve your symptoms like those we mentioned above.

3. Diet & Lifestyle to Improve Your Sexual Function

i) Suitable Exercise
Chinese Medicine considers that movement can increase the body’s Yang, especially the Kidney Yang. I suggest the most suitable exercise is in comfortable sunshine – walking, running, swimming, playing ball games.

ii) Enough Sleep & Reduce Stress Level
Make sure you have enough hours of quality sleep – I recommend at least 7 hours per night, preferably beginning before 11.00 pm. Organise your working time and make sure you’re not too stressed.

iii) Protect Your Lower Back
Make sure your lower back has good circulation without pain. If you are experiencing pain or poor circulation, please have this resolved as soon as possible. Avoid coldness on the lower back. The Chinese have a saying: “the health of the lower back is very important for men.”

iv) Recommended Foods to Eat
Prunes, lamb, scallop, sea cucumber, chives, onion, walnuts, chestnuts, goji berries. For more detail about diet please check my diet therapy article.

v) Acupuncture and Chinese Massage
You can have regular acupuncture or meridian massage in the following areas: lower back, soles of the feet, Liver and Kidney Channels.

Lymphatic Therapy

 detox

 What is the lymphatic system?

It’s a major part of our immune system, a network of organs, nodes, ducts and vessels that move a clear fluid called lymph from tissues to our blood stream. Lymphatic vessels travel through our circulatory system alongside blood vessels and carry the lymphatic fluid. This fluid is made up of immune cells that are used to fight off foreign invaders like viruses as well as cleaning up abnormal or damaged cells in our body.

The Importance of Lymphatic drainage

The Lymph collects at specific drainage areas throughout our body and because it is used to carry waste materials out of our bodies, having that fluid drain properly is essential for recovering from illness and overall good health. On the other side, poor lymphatic flow increases fluid retention, allows toxic wastes to accumulate in the body and can lead to higher appearances of cellulite.
